The Energy Studies Institute, together with the NUS Office of Environmental Sustainability (OES) and National Youth Council (NYC) organised a dialogue session on 16 August at Marina Barrage to take stock of climate action and sustainable development efforts thus far.

Climate Action & Sustainable Development - Where Are We Now.jpgThe event was attended by 70 youths and NUS staff who were treated to a special screening of the documentary Before the Flood by longtime environmental advocate Leonardo DiCaprio as well as a guided tour of the new Sustainable Singapore Gallery.

The lively dialogue session that followed also saw speakers presenting the science of climate change, progress made in Singapore’s Year of Climate Action and a youth perspective on the Sustainable Development Goals.

MEWR also shared on the various engagement efforts by MEWR and partners throughout the year, and encouraged the audience to start their own ground-up initiatives.
