It has been a great week for #ClimateActionSG!

Since the launch of our climate action pledge site on 26 Jan, we have received more than 3,000 climate action pledges from individuals, organisations and schools!

And in other exciting news…

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Singapore became the first embassy in Singapore to make a Climate Action pledge.

Ambassador to the Netherlands in Singapore and Brunei, Margriet Vonno, made an individual pledge last Friday. Now, the entire Embassy of the Netherlands has followed in ambassador Vonno’s footsteps by pledging to take action. In doing so, the Dutch Embassy is the first embassy in Singapore to make a pledge.

The embassy’s pledge consists of a description of the actions already being taken (i.e. turning off the lights and striving to be a paperless office), as well as the long term goals. Furthermore, the pledge stresses the relationship between Singapore and the Netherlands on sustainability, and refers to the Dutch government’s plans for a Circular Economy in 2050. (Source)

Bukit View Secondary School was also the first school in Singapore to organise a mass #ClimateActionSG pledge during their school assembly this morning!

Thanks @bukitviewsecondary for your support and we encourage all schools to do the same!
